Senior Account Executive, Public Relations

This position is responsible for managing all public relations accounts in the agency, and reports directly to Director of Account Services. The candidate will handle all media relations, which includes, but is not limited to: developing internal and external media plans based on client goals and objectives, overall earned media strategy, identifying and securing press opportunities, creating written materials (press releases, pitches, statements, etc.), maintaining client communication, and delivering editorial and social media coverage reports. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with the Digital Department to oversee the social media strategy and execution for clients. Candidates must be well-organized and capable of executing multiple projects on multiple accounts in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute internal and external communications plans and messaging strategies for clients based on their goals
  • Generate positive coverage and exposure for clients via tailored media outreach to national, regional, and trade outlets
  • Regularly draft written materials including press releases, media advisories, pitches, statements, etc.
  • Monitor client- and industry-related media coverage and create coverage reports
  • Conduct SWOT analysis, research, and risk assessments for clients
  • Plan, manage, and execute client events and engagements
  • Spearhead the development of new business proposals and participate in presentations
  • Create and execute crisis communications plans and conduct risk assessments
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and media and develop strong relationships with both
  • Create strong relationships with clients and media as the main point of contact for both.
  • Supervise and mentor junior-level team, including interns, and participate in hiring process

Social Media:

  • Oversee the development of social media content creation (images, video, creative assets)
  • Oversee the scheduling of social media posts utilizing scheduling platform (i.e. Hootsuite)
  • Assist in the development of social media campaigns and strategy
  • Conduct social media audits and uncover best practices
  • Assist in the creation of analytics reports on social media (engagement, reach, followers, etc.) and provide thoughtful insights

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of public relations or internal/external communications experience
  • Experience in a creative agency a plus
  • Degree in PR, journalism, communications, or like field
  • Strong media relations skills with proven results
  • Strong communicator – both written and verbal
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C clients
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently
  • Ability to handle multiple clients and projects at once in an often fast-paced environment

Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Experience with Hootsuite social publishing platform
  • CisionPoint (media list building and monitoring)
